Pirates of the Gloaming Tide
That the Gloaming Tide were a curse, there can be no doubt; but whether that curse opened the door for Old Worlde magic to return to the world, or whether the return of magic was the Curse is much debated. Whatever the case, the ends could not be discounted.
It began with the births. Babes with elven ears and eyes, and stout, stunted dwarves to lines long thought descended from forest and stone. It was after the first of the Blighted Dragons rose from the Black Water that the Dragon Men found their way from the far side of the world. Tribes of the Half-Men were found in the Jungles of the New Worlde, and the Gnomes and other Fey Creatures appeared as though they had never been gone – whole villages and enchanted forests once thought lost forever, returned with the dawn of the Great Storm. With the resurgence of magic, also came a rekindling of Wizardry and with the consorting of demons. Perhaps even from the very first summoning, their half-breed descendants fell upon the blighted Earth. Even the animals themselves – Wild and suddenly Awakened – stretch their grasp across the globe, searching – all are searching for salvation – for freedom from the curse of the Gloaming Tide, perhaps even for release from Magic itself.
These are the races of the Blighted Earth. The Pirates of the Gloaming Tide, and perhaps, the Heroes destined to save both Wurldes, Olde and New.
